Abstract Charles John Feraud was the son of Julius Feraud, who immigrated from France and operated the Feraud General Merchandise Store and Feraud Bakery in what is now known as the 1903 Building. The family operated their store out of this building until 1944. worked in the family store, but was also employed as an oil worker and water well contractor at various times. Abstract Julius (Jules) Feraud was born in Salernes, France, and came to Ventura in 1875. Julius was married to Frances Yáñez Feraud in 1879 and together they had 6 children.Soon after arriving in Ventura, Julius established a partnership and operated a bakery on Main Street. In 1890, Julius opened his own bakery on Main Street and Ventura Avenue. The store expanded to become the Feraud General Merchandise Store and Feraud Bakery. Firefighting reference collection

William Friend papers

Abstract

William "Bill" Friend was a former resident of Ojai and later Ventura. Friend was also a local historian. He passed away on April 14, 2011. This collection contains photographs, notes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, reports, maps, periodicals, and research compiled by Friend, mostly related to Ojai and other local history, the forest service and forest management, wildfire management, and management of the Sespe watershed and Piru creek.

Abstract T. William "Bill" Hale was a local architect and civil engineer. In 1967 he was Thousand Oaks' first director of public works. He owned the Ventura engineering and surveying firm, Robert Martin and Associates, which was sold to Ed Campbell following Hale's death and became U.S.A. Architects. Abstract David W. Hill, born in 1923 in Blanchard, North Dakota, moved to Ventura in 1932 with him family as a child. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army during World War II.
