This collection comprises maps collected by T. William "Bill" Hale and donated by his widow, Sharon Hale. The maps cover Ventura County and focus primarily on tract and property maps. Some maps cover roads, pipes, company equipment locations, or waterways.

Biographical / Historical

T. William "Bill" Hale was a Ventura County architect and city planner. In 1967, he became the first director of public works for the city of Thousand Oaks. He continued to work as a civil engineer in Ventura County after his appointment. He owned Ventura engineering and surveying firm Robert Martin and Associates. Hale died of a brain aneurysm in December 1994 at the age of 60.

Abstract

T. William "Bill" Hale was a local architect and civil engineer. In 1967 he was Thousand Oaks' first director of public works. He owned the Ventura engineering and surveying firm, Robert Martin and Associates, which was sold to Ed Campbell following Hale's death and became U.S.A. Architects. Hale died in December 1994 at the age of 60. This collection comprises maps collected by Hale and donated by his widow, Sharon Hale. The maps cover Ventura County and focus primarily on tract and property maps. Some maps cover roads, pipes, company equipment locations, or waterways.
