Collection of clubs and organizations of Ventura County
Ventura County has been home to numerous clubs and organizations throughout its history. This collection consists of archival materials from 1881 to 1998. Assembled by the repository, this collection contains important papers, including minutes and reports; membership directories and yearbooks; event programs; newsletters; news clippings; and a few photographs from various groups and clubs throughout Ventura County.
Poinsettia Club records
The Saticoy Poinsettia Club was incorporated in 1899 and was originally named the Saticoy Literary and Social Club until 1902. It was formed for the purpose of promoting sociality among its members and for the betterment of their recently established community in Saticoy. This collection includes their historical documents, yearbooks, scrapbooks, minutes, financial and administrative records.
Portuguese Society records
This collection pertains to Ventura Counsel No. 99 of the Sociedade Portuguesa Rainha Santa Isabel (S.P.R.S.I.). The society was a non-profit charitable and social sorority whose members are of Portuguese lineage and was active in Ventura County. The collection consists of the society's papers and several ledgers.
Saticoy Lionettes records
Saticoy Lionettes was a women’s auxiliary group of the Saticoy Lions Club, whose purpose was to promote sociability among its members as well as promote civic welfare. Saticoy Lionettes formed in 1964 and the collection includes the club’s organizational records and scrapbooks detailing their activities together and within the community.
