This maps in this collection are mostly of Ventura County, but there are several other locations represented, including California, Oregon, and Arizona. The maps include aerial photographs, topographical maps, housing tract plans, and maps for roads, surveyors, rail lines, and equipment locations.

Abstract
The Ventura County Star was founded in 1925 by the John P. Scripps Newspaper Group. In approximately 1936, the Star acquired the Ventura Free Press, which was founded in 1875, and began publishing as the Ventura County Star-Free Press in 1938. In 1994, the newspaper dropped the Free Press and began publishing again as the Ventura County Star. Their headquarters are in Camarillo, California.
