Abstract
David W. Hill, born in 1923 in Blanchard, North Dakota, moved to Ventura in 1932 with him family as a child. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army during World War II. He graduated from Northridge College, and in the 1970s he retired from Pt. Mugu Naval Missile Center as head of Editing and Publishing. Abstract
E. M. (Edwin M.) Sheridan (1854-1941) came to Ventura, California in 1873. Sheridan worked in newspapers and became one of the publishers of the Ventura Signal in 1879. Through his work, he became well acquainted with many early day settlers in Ventura County. In 1913, Sheridan took charge of the Pioneer Museum, presently known as the Museum of Ventura County, and spent 22 years as the Museum’s curator.
