Ledger: Trial balance, 1895 March 5 - 1900 March 5
Scope and Contents
This series contains a wide variety of ledgers related to the Bard family's business accounts and investments.
The following acronyms are used for brevity: Bank of Hueneme (BoH), B.I. Co (Berylwood Investment Company), HWC (Hueneme Wharf Company). The labels Cash, Daybook, and Journal are taken from the spine of books. Ledgers are accounting books where Bard kept record of finances or transactions. The label Deeds refers to books of actual deeds or other records of Bard and his business partnership land holdings and titles. The label sheep farming is used to group together books that pertain to Bard's business records related to sheep farming.
