typed on back of photo: "'Old Betsey', the 1892 Russell engine belonged to L.K. Wood, of Mendon, Utah, and perhaps the most famous traction engine in the country. From this the 1/9th scale, and the 1/2 scale models were built, and pictures of them have appeared in many magazines, and the models themselves have been in numerous displays and fairs throughout the United States." "This engine is in perfect running order, and had I not taken sick while on the trip, we would have steamed it up, and run it around. It still has a few of the original flues, which is quite unusual for an engine of this age."
