Abstract

This collection consists of glass plate negatives donated by Bert Seymour and photographer David W. Hill. Both donations include images captured by local photographers John C. Brewster and Waldo Henry Dingman, Sr. The collection is composed entirely of glass plate negatives, mostly gelatin glass negatives, and some photographic prints. The images are of various Ventura County locations, historic sites, persons, and events, such as parades and community celebrations.

Abstract This collection combines material from the Teague, Reddick, and Brewster families by way of Ruth Reddick and Robert Dana Teague. Ruth and Dana married in 1943, uniting their two families, both of which have long histories in Ventura County. Ruth, an Oxnard native, was the daughter of Ruth Dresslar and Harry E. Reddick, a Santa Paula city engineer, regional director for the U.S. Soil Conservation Service, and a citrus and avocado rancher. Dana, born in Ventura, was the son of Dana Lyndon...
