Abstract Julius (Jules) Feraud was born in Salernes, France, and came to Ventura in 1875. Julius was married to Frances Yáñez Feraud in 1879 and together they had 6 children.Soon after arriving in Ventura, Julius established a partnership and operated a bakery on Main Street. In 1890, Julius opened his own bakery on Main Street and Ventura Avenue. The store expanded to become the Feraud General Merchandise Store and Feraud Bakery.
